Logistics, an indispensable element of trade, managed to be among the sectors that rose with the pandemic. Continuing this success in 2022, transportation services achieved a 57 percent growth in the first 7 months of the year compared to the same period of 2021. Stating that foreign investors see the opportunities in the field of transportation in the country and make large investments, sector representatives point out that new opportunities will arise in the sector by 2023.


Following the Covid-19 pandemic, e-commerce figures increased from 8 percent to 20 percent, and the cargo and logistics industry also grew at the same rate. According to the data announced by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the number of additional pass certificates received from 21 different countries in 2022 exceeded 320 thousand, and the total number of pass certificates exceeded 1.6 million. As of November 2022, it was observed that the number of companies that received authorization certificates increased by 50 percent compared to the pre-epidemic period.


In 2021, Turkey achieved a record export of 225 billion dollars, and as a result, the number of export transportation in international road transportation exceeded 1.5 million. Turkey, which exported 231 billion dollars in the 11-month period of 2022 with its growing economy, experienced a 15 percent increase in international road transportation in the first January-October period of the year.
